Sopen Lukale Of Oke Sopen Installs New Chiefs, Grants Scholarship To Students

The Sopen Lukale of Oke Sopen, Oba Mufutau Adesesan Yusuf, FAAC, in a colourful ceremony, installed new chiefs and presented scholarships to outstanding Oke Sopen students.

It was all glamour in Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North Local government area of Ogun State on Saturday, 28th of October, 2023 as the Sopen Lukale of Oke Sopen, Ijebu Igbo, Oba Mufutau Adesesan Yusuf, FAAC installed new chiefs.

The installations, according to the Sopen Lukale, is a reward for their outstanding and notable contributions to the overall development of Oke Sopen.

Witnessing the installation ceremony were: Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo, HRM Oba Lawrence Jayeoba Adebajo (Ojuromi VI), Ebumawe of Ago Iwoye; HRH Oba Abdulrasaq Adesina Adenugba, former senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Sen. Olalekan Mustapha, Olokinne of Ojowo, Kegbo of Atikori, Bejeroku of Oke Agbo, Abijaparako of Japara and several other high-profile dignitaries.

The newly installed Chiefs are: Chief (Mrs) Bolanle Aderonke Akinsanya Opanuga (Yeye Bobagbimo of Oke Sopen), Alhaja Kuburat Iyabode Azeez (Yeye Mesho of Oke Sopen), Amb. Chief Sherifat Olusola Musa (Yeye Bewaji of Oke Sopen) and Aare Dr. Adebayo Odunowo (Aare Bobaseye of Oke Sopen).

A major highlight from the event includes the presentation of beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme sponsored by HRH Oba Mufutau Adesesan Yusuf, FAAC through the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN, Ijebu North Local Government Branch). The beneficiaries were drawn from each of the government-owned schools in Oke Sopen.

The student with the highest score (355) for the 2023 UTME in Ogun State — Shittu Prisilla Adedunni, an indigene of Oke Sopen — was also presented to the Sopen Lukale and other guests. The monarch donated ₦100,000 to the young girl, while the Orimolusi of Ijebu Igbo donated ₦250,000 to the girl.
