Oke-Sopen is the foremost of the five towns constituting Ijebu-Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government, Ogun State. Founded around 1430 AD, we are a proud community of over 175,000 people united by culture, tradition, and a vision for progress.
Oke-Sopen, in Ijebu-Igbo, is a town located in Ijebu-North Area of Ogun State, Nigeria. It is approximately a 15-minute drive from Ijebu-Ode and serves as the Headquarters of Ijebu-North Local Government Authority. With geographical coordinates of Latitude 6°58'0" North and Longitude 4°0'0" East, Oke-Sopen stands as the political headquarters and commercial nerve centre of Ijebu-North Local Government. Founded by Princess Sopenlukale and Ogunlegi around 1430 AD (approximately 750 years ago), our community has produced great leaders, scholars, and entrepreneurs who have shaped the fabric of Nigeria.
